In addition to collecting eyeglasses for students in inner cities and third-world countries, Sight Learning is also devoted to having eye-exam clinics to treat patients and to prescribe them with the write glasses. We hope that by conducting these clinics we can help them in many ways, and get them help that they need. Sight Learning understands that many families cannot afford health insurance and do not go to optometrists regularly. Therefore, Sight Learning is hoping to use volunteer optometrists to hold free of charge clinics to help families in these situations.

Completed Clinics:

December 17th through December 19: Tijuana, Mexico in partnership with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity).

January 27-29th, Tijuana, Mexico. Sight Learning went on a clinic in partnership with LIGA and VOSH, two non-profit organizations who strive to help people in third world countries around the world. This clinic had dermatology, optometry, podiatrics, pediatrics, general medicine, trauma relief, dentistry, and even eye surgery. Sight Learning was very proud to help out with this great cause and help over 250 people who came to the clinic that day. We hope to continue working closely with Ms. Jacki Hansen and Mr. Frank Mora, two of the coordinators of the clinic and great supporters of Sight Learning.  ( see above for some of the pictures from that clinic)

February 18th- February 26th: Honduras. A huge success! Sight Learning helped treat nearly 5,000 patients at this clinic, and gave them the gift of sight! Sight Learning worked with Ms. Marti Adams, who helped put on this clinic in Copan, Honduras.

August 18 2012- September 3, 2012: New Delhi, India: Sight Learning was very blessed to help out at a clinic in New Delhi, India from mid-August to early September. Sight Learning was able to help run this clinic which runs year round at this site.

Upcoming Clinics

We are also honored and excited to announce a blossoming partnership with a great organization called HIS Vision. Together, Sight Learning and HIS Vision are working on organizing several eye-clinics in Haiti!

A little info on the HIS Vision Project:

The HIS Vision project is dedicated to eradicating visual impairment around the world, beginning with a sustainable eye clinic in Cap Haitian, Haiti. This clinic will provide eye care to those in need while also offering educational opportunities and employment to local Haitians. On a domestic level, HIS Vision will provide vision care through a sponsorship program to children who do not qualify for Medicaid but still cannot afford eye care.

Here are the date of the clinics that Sight Learning is working with HIS Vision on. Volunteers are needed!

October 10-18 2012: This trip will include eye care, clinic renovation, children’s program, and a hygiene clinic. Volunteers are needed!

January 16-24, 2013: This trip will be dedicated to setting up the eye-clinic

March 6-14, 2013: This trip is dedicated to students who want to get involved, especially those who are interesting in the medical or missions field.

If you are interested in volunteering at these trips, please contact Yash Gupta, Founder and CEO of Sight Learning at yashgupta@sightlearning.com or Haley Collins from HIS Vision at haley@hisvisionproject.com . Thank You so much for your continued support of Sight Learning!
